imagineIAM is from Louisiana and is one of the most interesting artists I’ve come across (thanks Scott) He’s currently working with Hand On The Plow and released his debut single in January which is available on iTunes.
imagineIAM’s style mixes unusual vocals and percussive samples into an intricate and precise rhythm. There’s a lot of passion thrown into the mix and I’m expecting to see more from this artist.
Here’s his interpretation of his sound…
“My music enters this dimension pretty much smack-dab in the the middle of all music ’styles’, since it is so exact in its presence, and it simply comes to me just as definite as the sun simply shines… I throw in some extras to make it more sassy, crunk, ridiculous, holy’n’profane, sacred and shut up… with ninja blood sparkling deep electric it dares and blooms forth beyond the known edge creating a new world celebration… unconquerablly creative and classy…”
Joel Dobbins is an eclectic artist who balances simple, substantial lyrics with catchy, well-crafted music, resulting in a fresh listening experience song after song. Joel Dobbins grew up and discovered his passion for music in Maine and has spent the recent years writing and recording in Pennsylvania.
He is prolific, with over 100 original songs written and four albums released over the past three years. His most recent album Investmentwas written and recorded in under two weeks. He has two new projects due to be released before the end of 2009, when he will be attending Full Sail University to major in entertainment business. His influences come from all over the place, and as a result, his music tends to be all over the place – in a good way.
Latest album ‘Investment’ offered for free download, you gotta love that.

To all those in the rest of the world, the Eurovision song contest is an annual onslaught of shite music for the European masses.
In the U.K, it is widely regarded as being terrible but the rest of Europe, particularly the ex-eastern bloc countries seem to take it seriously. Terry Wogan usually narrates the event offering a sarcastic commentary for the U.K. Graham Norton took over this year and was better than I expected.
“Now there is going to be a wonderful aftershow party. I’d like to wear a dress made of cheap wrapping paper, I wonder where I could borrow one.” Graham Norton
The second half of the competition in which the different European countries award points to the acts is considered the only watchable part by most cultured countries. Normally all neighboring countries just vote for each other but this didn’t happen so much this year and the U.K came in the top 5 for the first time in years, coincidence or because we pulled out of Iraq?
Ukraine’s entry to the 2007 Eurovision song contest. The key change gave me internal hemorrhaging.
The Limousines are a San Francisco based electro duo. They’re composed of Eric on vocals and Gio behind the beats. Apparently they met on the internet and later formed The Limousines leaving their previous individual projects. I can see this act getting big.
They’ve released their first single ‘Very Busy People’ on iTunes but I don’t think it’s available in the UK. You can hear it below in the audio player (:
Bendito Machine is a strangely interesting series of animations. So far three have been made and the 4th is on its way called ‘Don’t Stop Running’. From the website, it would appear that 10 episodes will be made. It’s an amazingly effective animation style using silhouettes. The main theme of these clips seems to be human development issues such as industrialisation, capitalism and idolism.
Indie Music Finds was started in April 2009 as a place for people to find something new. I try and keep it quite diverse so rummage around a bit and I’m sure you’ll find something you like to take away with you.
